Is it really unscented, or will it smell like beef?
It's unscented in that we add no essential oils or fragrance. Tallow does have a mild, natural smell of its own, but we double-purify ours so it's very faint, and with the small amount you actually use it fades within a minute or two. What's left is just clean, gentle moisture.
Is it gentle enough for sensitive skin, babies and kids?
Yes. With nothing but grass-fed tallow and organic oils, there's very little to irritate sensitive, easily-upset skin, and it's a popular gentle choice for babies and kids. As with any new product, patch test first.
Does tallow clog pores or cause breakouts?
For most people, no. Tallow closely mimics your skin's own oils, so it absorbs well rather than sitting on top and blocking pores. Use a small amount, and if your skin is very acne-prone, start light and see how it responds.
What does "whipped" mean?
We whip the tallow to fold in air for a light, fluffy texture that melts in and absorbs faster than a dense, solid balm. A pea-sized amount goes a long way.
What can I use it on?
Face, body, lips, hands, cuticles and dry patches, and it's lovely on skin after a day in the sun once it has cooled. One simple balm replaces a shelf of single-use products.
Is tallow good for your skin?
Very. Tallow is naturally rich in vitamins A, D, E and K and the fatty acids your skin recognizes, so it deeply moisturizes, softens and helps skin look healthy, without a long list of synthetic ingredients.

Great stuff make your teeth shiny also
The tallow cream doesn’t leave you feeling all greasy and provides far more moisture than commercial lotion. Tallow soaps leave you feeling clean without all the chemicals in regular soap. I’ve also tried other tallow soaps and only use the Primal now.

I’ve been using the tallow face and body balm for several weeks now. For the past couple of winters I’ve had dry cracked and red skin on my left elbow. Since applying the balm on my elbow at night, it has visibly improved. It’s less red, cracked and feels alot smoother which you can see in the photos—top is before and bottom is today. I’m sorry my elbow selfies aren’t very good! It’s hard to take the photo. If you’d like I can ask a friend or family member to take it for me.

It is very moisturizing, yet soaks in quickly. Scent is pleasant. Before this I used to buy other brands, they all had a strong tallow smell. this one by far is the best I have used in the past 5 years. Also I am sure it has a better tallow as this balm lasts a long time. A little goes a long way. I hope they do not increase their price over the coming years.
