Who is this bar best for?
It's the most nourishing bar in our line, made for hair or skin that runs dry. Raw honey and calendula-infused olive oil are especially soothing and conditioning, so it's a lovely pick for a dry scalp or sensitive skin.
Does it really work as both a shampoo and a body wash?
Yes, one bar cleans head to toe. Grass-fed tallow, raw honey and calendula lather to lift dirt and oil without stripping your natural oils, so you can simplify your shower down to a single bar.
Is there an adjustment period?
There can be, and it's normal. Coming from conventional shampoo, your scalp may take a week or two to rebalance as it clears built-up silicones and detergents. Because this bar is rich in conditioning tallow and honey, many people find the switch gentler than with a stripping bar. Stick with it and hair settles into soft and clean.
Do I still need conditioner?
Often less than you'd think, since tallow and honey condition as they clean. Fine hair may be happy with the bar alone; longer or very dry hair may still like a light conditioner or a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse, especially in the first couple of weeks.
Is tallow good for a dry, flaky scalp?
Yes. Tallow's fatty acids and vitamins A, D, E and K are close to your scalp's own oils, so it cleans gently without stripping and can be soothing for a dry, flaky or itchy scalp.
How do I store it so it lasts?
Keep it on a draining dish out of direct water between uses so it can dry out. A well-drained bar lasts much longer.

I’ve been using the tallow face and body balm for several weeks now. For the past couple of winters I’ve had dry cracked and red skin on my left elbow. Since applying the balm on my elbow at night, it has visibly improved. It’s less red, cracked and feels alot smoother which you can see in the photos—top is before and bottom is today. I’m sorry my elbow selfies aren’t very good! It’s hard to take the photo. If you’d like I can ask a friend or family member to take it for me.

It is very moisturizing, yet soaks in quickly. Scent is pleasant. Before this I used to buy other brands, they all had a strong tallow smell. this one by far is the best I have used in the past 5 years. Also I am sure it has a better tallow as this balm lasts a long time. A little goes a long way. I hope they do not increase their price over the coming years.

I have been using the whipped beef tallow balm for over 2 weeks, twice daily, and I love it. I have sensitive skin and dry weather makes matters worse, to the point where I get rashes on my face after showers. This balm is one of the only ones that calms my skin. It leave it soft and hydrated, but not greasy. I like the smell and that it does not soak in and disappear right away.
